Choose how your mailbox plays messages and whether you get your voicemail by email.
Steps
- Log in to the Voice Portal.
- Click the Messages icon, then the Settings tab.
- Change any of these settings, then click Save.
Settings
- Enable Voicemail – check to turn voicemail on, uncheck to turn it off.
-
Inbox (these only change what you hear when you call in, not the Voice Portal):
- Sort voicemail inbox by latest first – plays your newest messages first.
- Announce voicemail received time – plays when each message came in.
- Announce incoming call ID – plays the caller's number, if available.
- Operator Forward – lets callers press 0 during your greeting to be sent somewhere else.
- Greetings – choose which greeting is active, listen to it, or record a new one.
- Email Address(es) – where voicemail emails are sent.
-
Email Notifications – check Receive an email for new voicemail to get an email each time someone leaves you a message. Then choose:
- Email Type – an email with a link to the voicemail, or with the recording attached.
- After Email Notification – what happens to the message in your mailbox afterward, like leaving it as new.
