What the icons on your Yealink T57W mean

Small icons at the top of your Yealink T57W screen tell you what the phone is doing. This guide explains what each one means and what to do about the ones that point to a problem.

Good to know: Most of the time you'll only see a few of these icons. Many only appear when you're using that feature.

Icons that point to a problem

If you see one of these, your phone may not be able to make or receive calls.

  • Network box with a grey look – the phone can't find a wired network connection. Check that the network cable is plugged in firmly at both ends. See "Plugging in your Yealink T57W or W73P."
  • Network box with a red "!" – the phone is plugged in, but it can't reach the network. Restart your phone. If the icon stays, call UnaDial support.
  • Grey Wi-Fi symbol – the phone couldn't connect to Wi-Fi.
  • Wi-Fi symbol with a red "!" – the phone is on Wi-Fi, but it can't reach the network.
  • Red triangle with a "!" – the phone has a warning. Restart your phone. If the triangle comes back, call UnaDial support.

If Wi-Fi isn't working, call UnaDial support. We set up Wi-Fi on your phone for you.

Calls and messages

  • Red angled arrow – you have missed calls. Tap History to see them.
  • Voicemail symbol (two circles joined by a line, like a cassette tape) – you have a new voicemail. Press Message to listen.
  • Envelope – a text message arrived on the phone.
  • Red circle with a white minus sign – Do Not Disturb is on. Calls won't ring your phone. Dial *79 to turn it off.
  • Red microphone with a line through it – your microphone is muted. Press Mute to turn it back on.
  • Speaker with an "x" – your ringer volume is turned all the way down, so the phone won't ring out loud. When you're not on a call, press Volume + to turn it up.
  • "AA" – Auto Answer is on. The phone answers calls by itself.

Forwarding

An orange arrow means your calls are being forwarded on the phone. The letter on the arrow tells you when:

  • "A" – Always: every call is forwarded.
  • "B" – Busy: calls are forwarded when you're on the phone.
  • "N" – No answer: calls are forwarded when you don't pick up.

To forward your calls, we recommend using *72 or your Voice Portal instead. See "Forwarding calls and Do Not Disturb from your phone." If you see one of these arrows and didn't expect it, call UnaDial support.

How you're talking

  • Handset – you're using the handset.
  • Speaker – you're on speakerphone.
  • Headset – you're using a headset.

Bluetooth

  • Grey Bluetooth symbol – Bluetooth is on, but nothing is connected.
  • Green Bluetooth symbol – a Bluetooth headset is connected.
  • Green phone with a Bluetooth symbol – a mobile phone is connected to your desk phone by Bluetooth.

See "Yealink T57W desk phone guide" to connect a Bluetooth headset.

Wi-Fi

  • Green Wi-Fi symbol – the phone is connected to Wi-Fi.

Other icons

  • Padlock – the phone is locked. You'll need the unlock PIN to use most features.
  • USB stick – a USB flash drive is plugged into the phone.
  • Red dot or red pause symbol – the phone is recording a call to a USB flash drive, or that recording is paused. This is not the same as UnaDial call recording.

The line keys on the screen

The keys down the sides of the screen show a small phone picture for each line:

  • Green phone – your line is connected and working.
  • Green phone with a person – a shared line is connected and working.
  • Flashing green phone – the line is still connecting. Wait a minute.
  • Grey phone – the line couldn't connect. The phone can't make or receive calls on it. Restart your phone. If it stays grey, call UnaDial support.
  • Red phone with a minus sign – Do Not Disturb is on for this line.
  • Orange phone with an arrow – calls on this line are being forwarded.

The power light

The phone's power light also tells you a few things:

  • Solid red – the phone is starting up.
  • Fast-flashing red – a call is ringing.
  • Slowly flashing red – you have a new voicemail or message.
  • Short red blink every few seconds – the phone is in power-saving mode.
