Using apps and desktops in the web portal

Open an app or desktop

Double-click (or tap) its icon. Some accounts also let you right-click (or tap and hold) an icon to choose whether it opens in your browser or in the app, and in the same tab or a new one.

The toolbar

When a desktop is open in your browser, use the toolbar for:

  • Full screen
  • Upload a file – copy a file from your computer to your remote desktop
  • Download a file – copy a file from your remote desktop to your computer
  • Shortcuts – send keys your browser would otherwise catch, like Control+Alt+Delete, Windows Key, Tab, Escape, and Print screen
  • Clipboard – copy and paste between your computer and the remote desktop

When a single app is open, the toolbar is tucked into the bottom of the page. Click the up arrow to see the download, upload, and clipboard buttons.

Copy, paste, and moving files

  • Plain text can usually be copied and pasted directly. For anything else, use the Clipboard button on the toolbar.
  • You can also drag a file from your computer onto the remote app or desktop. A Save as box appears, and the file is saved on the remote side.

On a phone or tablet

The toolbar also has a Keyboard button and an Arrow button that switches how your finger works: a white arrow means tap-to-click, and a red arrow means you move an on-screen pointer.

Good to know: On an iPhone or iPad, you can upload from your Photos only, and downloading files isn't available in the web portal. Use the Remote Desktop app if you need to move other files.

Don't see a button? Your company decides which toolbar features are turned on. Call UnaDial support if you need one.
